Moving forward with the 2023 fastpitch season

Hello members, we had our board meeting a few days ago and came up with what we believe is a good plan to move the program forward and give our girls the best experience we can. There are still some unresolved items that we hope to get clarified in the next 1-2 weeks.

Here are some key points from the meeting and our discussions the last few days:

• Cost to register will be going up to $120 and is posted on our website.

• Registration cost will include full uniforms (jerseys, pants, socks, belts, hats), purchasing of new team gear (catchers gear, catchers gloves, balls, bats, helmets for those without), and league fees.

• Even with these player costs going up, we estimate each team to be roughly $800 short of breaking even. Sponsors will be required so please donate if you can and/or spread the word. With the numbers we're getting we're tentatively estimating 4-5 teams. That puts us $3,000-$4,000 short of where we need to be as a program.

• Our hope is to remain in the GWGSA league paying a league fee per player and purchase gear/uniforms ourselves. The GWGSA board meets next Sunday 2/5 to discuss our proposal and vote. If the vote goes our way, great...everything above remains the same. If the vote doesn't go our way we will reevaluate our options and move forward in the best possible way for the program and our girls.

• We voted to start a "Little Tykes Tee Ball" program. This program is already up on the site for registration with other related information and will include our community's 3 and 4 year old boys and girls. **The City Parks will be handling tee ball for the older ages. Please contact them for more information.

• We plan to have a program-wide meeting in about 2 weeks to discuss our plans, try to get coaches figured out, and open up for any discussions that parents would like to have. Date/location hasn’t been set yet so please check back in about a week for more information on the meeting.

We really appreciate all of the interest shown in CYF and Little Tykes Tee Ball over the last couple weeks! After our board meeting we were all reinvigorated and can't wait for a fun and exciting 2023 season!
